This is a post or late WW2 era English Schermuly line thrower. These were used to throw lines ship to ship or throwing rescue lines. Overall length 20 ft +/-. The grips are English similar to Webley and other pistols of that era. The front handle arm is marked Schermuly date # 503324. The earlier models had a brass frame, later WW2 were metal. Non firearm. An item for the gun and marine collector. This piece can be improved with extra cleaning or paint.
