  A WW 2 helmet built in Canada by G.S.W. (General Steel Works D.P&H).  This helmet was re-issued to Halifax Police in Nova Scotia and hand painted with H.P.D.  These helmets were probably used during the infamous Halifax riots at the end of WW2.
