WW1 German Flare Pistol

German Model 1894 flare pistol unit marked. This piece shows a 9" barrel caliber 26.5mm. All steel construction with all matching parts and original wood grips . These flare guns were used by all the German forces in WW1 with the use of some in the early stages of WW2. This piece shows an overall grey brown finish with clear proofs and markings. This example is maker Marken TES CO which does not appear in the normal lists of standard makers. This piece is regimentally marked KPR 1K on the right side of the frame. There are various discussions on this marking translated to English . It is KPR JK not 1. The PR for Preuben or pioneer. The JK is unknown but may stand for Jager Kompanie . We don't know but better that it is marked than not. Not subject to license.
