WW1 French Berthier Rifle & Bayonet

• Description:

  St. Etienne Berthier 1907/15 rifle.  This example is marked MPA 1916 on the right side of the barrel.  The bore rates as bright very good plus with some light corrosion and strong rifling, caliber 8 X 50 5R (8mm Lebel).  The barrel shows most of its' original dull blue.  The receiver shows strong markings.  The bolt is correct and marked 90677.  As with many of these rifles the parts were changed out in the arsenal upgrades and repairs.  The wood is sound and matching the action.  There are 2 minor arsenal repairs to the wood on the butt and surrounding the sling swivel on the forwood.  This piece comes with an excellent brass gripped bayonet and scabbard .  A nice used WW1 example.
