  SN 474 is a Winchester Model 21 in 12 gauge.  This early example was built in the first year of production 1931!  There were only 16 frames built in 1930 and 5,152 frames built in 1931.  SN 474 would be one of only 615 Model 21's in the first year of production, see page 235 "Model 21"by Schwwing.  This example shows a 30" barrel choked improved cylinder.  This very early Model 21 was manufactured without auto ejectors.  This very early barrel flats only shows the serial 474 and the Winchester VP marks.  The bore in this 21 rates as bright excellent.  This example shows a very early model 21 round frame, see page 21 aforesaid book.  This example shows it's original wood with a later decolerator rubber pad and a lop of 15".  This very early Model 21 was refinished years ago for the former owner.  All of the original factory markings remain in place.  This early 21 still remains tight and strong as it was at time of manufacture.  A piece for the serious double shotgun fan or as a piece froM the Winchester shotgun collection.  There were only 32,500 regular production model 21 Winchesters built 1931 to 1988.  A 1st year production 21 is a very uncommon and seldom offered Winchester in Canada.
