- Description:
SN 33430A is a Winchester Model 54 rifle built in 1931. As per production foreman's records this was one of only 4,232 Model 54 rifles built that year. This example shows it's 24" barrel with it's original factory sights, 95% original blue, sharp clear markings and a bright excellent 30-06 bore. The receiver shows all of it's original finish rating as excellent. The wood shows it's original finish and factory checkering. The only modification to this classic rifle was the replacement of the butt plate with a white line Pachmayer rubber pad. The bore rates as bright excellent. The only finish wear is from carry, showing on the mag cap and trigger guard. This rifle was owned by an American hunter, taken to New Brunswick and used for decades in his hunting camp. There were approximaately 30,000 Model 54 rifles built in 30-06 caliber. This model was built from 1925 to 1941. A nice example for a Winchester collection or as a vintage hunting rifle.
