SN 65435 is a Winchester Model 1895 built in 1912. This rifle shows the barrel markings- nickel steel barrel especially for smokeless powder. The barrel is marked 30 US(30-40 Krag). The rifle also shows a 24" barrel as opposed to the standard 28" length while showing a bright excellent bore. The breach shows approximately 80% of it's original blue. Overall this example shows most of it's original finish. Most blueing loss is at the carrying point, base of the barrel, top of the receiver and front of the bolt. The left of the receiver shows that a receiver sight was mounted but removed. The original wood remains and shows normal usage, no cracks or repairs. A sound example for the Winchester collection.
