  SN 14772 is a 33 cal carbine. This example was refinished by or for a prior owner and is described as follows. the 22" barrel shows a bright excellent bore, clear stampings, the Winchester definitive and the mail order proofs. the frame , tangs and fittings show 95% refinish blue. All factory stampings are clear and sharp. The screw holes show little if any dishing. It would appear that heat coloring was added to the original finish on the hammer and lading gate assembly to enhance in the same manner. The wood shows checkering and added finish. The wood is modern remanufactured of the correct configuration. We have no knowledge of the checkering or if the wood was original to the gun. The 33 cal is the scarcest caliber in the carbine model. There are no factory records in the 145999 to 150799 serial block. We know that the barrel was replaced by the proof but not he original caliber. This carbine is offered as a refinished and or rebuilt carbine. A very good representative piece for the Winchester collector or shooter.
