  • Description:

SN PR 1831 is one of the scarces auto pistol to be found outside Russia. This pistol is noted as the Flattes auto pistol of it's type.  This pistol was built to take a unique 5.45 cartridge.  The pistol was developed over a 5 to 6 year period.  It was specifically built to be the flattest pistol known (0.67" slide and 0.69" frame).  The obvious purpose was a very concealable pistol especially for people wearing civilian clothers.  It is flat and built from metal alloy.  The pistol was built with a 6 groove barrel.  The cartridge the size of a 22LR goes out at 1.033 FPS.  The pistol was carried and used bby Soviet military, police and KGB agents.  This very scarce example remains in excellent plus condition with most finish wear on the alloy grips.  It comes with original holster and spare mag.  This rare pistol may be the only example in this country.  This is the military variation.  The cartridge was designed to defeat Kevlar body armour.  An example of this sort retails in the US  in excess of $5,000. Copies of Chapter 3 of Fred Datig work Volume 16 on Soviet pistols & cartridges will be provided to the purchaser pg 106-122.  This prohib would be a very significant item in any Russian or military handgun collector.  This item can be legally deactivated for sale to non prohib collectors for a fee.
