  SN 27159 is a U.S. military transition carbine, built for the US calvary, 1895-1896.  The receiver is dated 1895 and is one of 7,111 built by Springfield.  This example is mechanically sound with clear sharp receiver markings. Ufortunately, all wood markings, as well as the sling bar were removed by a previous owner .  The bore shows wear on the rifling but is shootable.  As always you should have a licensed gunsmith verify it's shootability.  A less common carbine on the Canadian market.
