SN3862571 is a Springfield M1 Garand built in June 1945. This example shows the Springfield SA over K mark on the left side of the buttstock and the circle P on the face of the grip. This rifle would have been converted to be a M1-D sniper rifle 1952-1953 at Springfield Arsenal. The butt shows the matching serial number to the receiver. This example shows a bright excellent bore and arsenal grease on the follower. The barrel shows the P proof and a July 1951 date. This is one of the rifles as sold by the U.S. to Denmark. it was with a small lot imported into Canada 20+ years ago. It was unfired and placed in a collection at that time. Few if any original scopes were imported with the rifles. Included with this M1_D are the following accessories- A Danish issued bayonet with the sharpened tip, MD YH marked scabbard, a new unissued US Garand sling SMCO. 1945 date, a M2 Garand flash hider and a US M-7 Grenade launcher. An overall sound collector grade M1 rifle for the collector.
