  Remington built Pattern 14, 303 caliber rifle.  SN 676904 is one of the 400,000 rifles buit by Remington.  For reference see "The U.S. Enfield" by Ian Skennerton .  This example shows the Birmingham commercial proof and not English made mark which was applied after the surplus sale and the exporting of the rifle out of England.  This piece shows a matching frame, bolt and rear sight.  The metal shows an arsenal refinish.  The bore rates at very good-light corrosion and shootable rifling.  A good example of a U.S. Enfield.
