  Antique US Military Model 1842 percussion pistol,( Flaydermans reference 6A-040) built and date marked 1849.  These 54 caliber pistols were built by Aston on contract with the U.S. military from 1846 to 1850.  This example shows an overall grey brown petina finish.  The lock markings are clear.  The action is sound and crisp.  The piece shows all original component parts including the rod.  The wood is sound but shows an old but sound service crack that is well secured by the upper and lower brass straps.  Overall length is 14". A sound antique U.S. pistol that is less common in Canada. No permit required to purchase or own.
