U.S. Springfield 1816 Flintlock Musket

  NSN is a Springfield built 1816 musket type 2.  This example shows an excellent lock with clear sharp stampings and a 1824 date.  The wood shows clear markings.  This item comes with original U.S. 1816 bayonet, T cut, no bridges.  This antique musket would make an ideal wall hanger.  The deceased owner of this piece was defrauded by the individual who sold the same.  We noted the barrel was extended by approximately 14" from the muzzle.  The extension was sleeved and welded making it totally unsafe to fire.  The wood was also extended.  As is this item would make an excellent antique display and is priced accordingly.
