Eastern probably Turkish percussion cap "Knee Blunderbuss. This example shows a 7 1/2" gold inlay blunderbuss barrel along with gold inlay tang. The 16" stock shows tiger stripping and ivory inlays as well as original iron butt plate with a1 1/2" strap retainer. The wood is mounted with 24 ivory and bone inserts. The stock shows a 1 3/4" wood nose piece. This was probably added later after original nose cap was broken or damaged. The probable manfacture is circa 1840 to 1860. No permit required to purchase or own.
