Sn 61550 is one of the infantry rifles Model 1869. This example shows the notch in the cartridge elevator. See page 338 of "Bolt Action Military Rifles of the World". This model was fitted with a dust cover. Most of the covers were removed by the military. This antique rifle showa a bright bore with sound rifling. Overall ,a sound example wood & metal. Note: the cleaning rod is missing. Repo dust covers are available from US parts dealers. This model is far scarcer than the 1869/71.
