• Description:

  This is a Sporterized Swedish Mauser Model 38 bolt action Short Rifle chambered in 6.5x55 Swede.  We are selling this as a parts gun as it has some issues.  Barrel is 23 1/2" with a near excellent, bright strong bore.  Metal surfaces have been cleaned and bear an older refinish; there is also a weld spot/filled in rear sight hole just forward of the stepped barrel.  The top of the receiver has been drilled and tapped for a scope base and a previous owner ground the left rear portion.  Bolt handle has been modified and doesn't close or open as smoothly as it should...there is a bit of a "hitch".  Serial numbers on the receiver and bolt match.  The stock is a commercial replacement with rosewood forend and pistol grip caps.  A Winchester black plastic buttplate is attached.  Once again a parts or project rifle with no promises or gaurantees.
