Antique Snider MKIII carbine with rare military marked Morris tube. This carbine is marked SN #5638 and is one of 14,388 MKIII's built by Enfield. This example shows a bright excellent 577 caliber bore, clear sharp barrel markings and original blue. The wood shows original finish and sharp clear Enfield roundel. The lock shows 1871 date. The original leather sight cover remains in place. The carbine is mounted with one the very scarce Morris pattern sub caliber tubes, serial #754 and the government proof and acceptance marks. The tube also shows a bright excellent bore. A scarce combination for the British military or Snider collectors.
