SN 1247, Charles Ingram was a Scottish gunmaker first known for his double barrel sporting guns. This sporting Snider shows a commercial 29" 577 caliber barrel. The barrel show light corrosion, but sound rifling and appears to be shootable. The barrel shows commercial proofs and markings. Charles Ingram's business started in 1836 and continued at various Glasgow locations until 1946. The firm was noted for building match rifles and military target rifles. Ref" "Boothroyds Directory". This piece shows a military lock, fittings and a military breech. The wood and barrel appear to be commercial. Any Scottish built weapon is considered to be scarce. An item for the Snider or Scottish collector.
