Snider Bayonet Issued to the G.T. Railway Brigade

  We are pleased to offer a very uncommon if not rare Canadian issue Snider bayonet.  This example remains in excellent condition showing original blue on the socket and bright original blade showing the original polish.  The scabbard remains in excellent condition.  The brass is GT3 204 (Grand Trunk Railway, No 3 rifle battalion) isssue 204.  This unit was formed in 1866 and disbanded in 1881.  A photo copy of the history of the unit is included.  A scarce bayonet for the military collector as well as railway collector.  The 3rd rifle battalion was stationed at Brantford Ontario.  A scarce and unique item for the Canadian collector.  See attached copy of the history of the Grand Trunk Brigade.
