• Description:

  SN42745 is one of only 13,479 MK II rifles built.  These were only built at Enfield and Sparkbrok. Ref: "Skennerton Final Edition "page 84.  This example shows the trace of a cartouch and the MKII marks on the butt.  The left side of the socket shows the Royal Navy N stamping.  The bolt shows the Enfield mark and was probably an arsneal/service replacement (numbered to the rifle.) The bore rates good to very good with overall light corrosion.  ( A better than average bore for most service rifles with Metford rifling).  The wood is sound showing obvious hard military usage.  The butt shows a later incorrect sling swivel.  A very scarce rifle for most Lee Enfield collections.
