  SN 17278 is a scarce variation of a single shot Iver Johnson 24 gauge 2 3/4" introduced in 1913.  This piece shows a 28" barrel with a bright excellent bore, while the frame shows the clear factory markings.  The metal shows most of it's original finish with a tight solid action.  The wood is original and remains in sound condition.  A scarce shotgun in 24 gauge.  Ref: Blue Book page 1121,  44th edition.  Non restricted.
