    NSN antique British Pattern 1845 Extra Service musket.  This example shows the correct 33" barrel and shows an excellent original browned finish, (correct no rear sight) and a typical corroded but smooth bore.  The barrel is secured with pins, the side plate is of the New Land pattern with center wood screw.  The wood shows an excellent overall original finish with correct proofing on the butt, to the rear of the sideplate and in the rod channel. The rod is correct and original.  An overall excellent example of a "Sergeant's 1845 Extra Service Musket" .These were approved  in 1845 and were in service up to 1852.  An excellent addition to any British Military collection.
