  SN 307597 is a Savage Model 99 built in 1928.  This example shows the 1926-1928 barrel address.  This rifle shows a 22" barrel in 250-3000 caliber and the bore rates as bright excellent.  The rifle would be considered a second variation which ran from 1924-1930.  This example shows original case colour on the lever assembly.  The metal shows clear markings as well as obvious usage marks and original factory sights.  The wood is sound and original with added finish.  A sound example of a hunted Savage but in better than average condition.  For reference see "Savage 99 Rifle" by David Royal, page 66-69.  Non restricted.
