  SN 164119 was built in 1915. This collector grade savage shows a 20" barrel with a bright excellent bore. This piece shows the savage take down auctioning straight forearm with schnoble tip. The buttstock has the steel shotgun buttplate and the correct hollowed-out stock.The blue on the barrel rates at 60% with most loss on the top. The rear sight has been replaced by a Lyman 57 SA receiver sight. The frame and tang shows 80-85% original blue. The lever shows most case color the wood shows no cracks, breaks or repairs other than a screw in the underside (filling a sling screw hole) 85% original varnish. The last 4" of the butt shows fading, indicating that a former owner installed a slip on rubber butt pad. This is a relatively scarce 1899 with an excellent bore. A collector grade savage in an old but still very hot caliber.
