• Description:

  SN 5843 is a cut back Remington Sporting rifle showing a 23 5/8" barrel. Based on the barrel inscription this barrel was cut back at the base end.  The barrel shows part of the Remington address.  The caliber appears to be 45-70.  This piece shows an excellent action and wood .  A great parts gun or as a rebuilder.  The bore appears to rate as excellent.  The wood for the same rifles is very difficult to find.  The action is in excellent condition with a trace of case colour.  The rifle probably started out as a No 1 mid range target rifle.  The underside of the barrel is marked Hepburn in 4 strikes?  Note; All parts guns sold on a no return basis.
