  SN 6917 is a Remington Hepburn showing a 28 3/4 round to octagon barrel with it's original open factory sights.   This rifle appears to be a No. 3 hunter's or sporting rifle.  The bore rates bright, very good with light pitting and sound rifling.  The metal is overall grey/brown.  The wood is original and sound.  Overall, this rifle was very well used.  The action is sound.  The underside of the barrel is caliber marked 40. 3 1/4.  An antique rifle for the single shot or Remington collection.
