  SN 4065709 is a Remington 03-A3 WW2 rifle built November of 1943.  See table 10 page 223 of "03 Springfiled Service Rifle" by Bruce Canfield.  The barrel show a production date of September,1943.  This example shows a bright shootable bore with some corrosion associated with corrosive primers and improper cleaning.  The metal shows an excellent Parkerized finish.  The wood is excellent but devoid of RA or inspector marks.  This suggests that the wood was replaced probably prior to the surplus sale of the rifle by the DCM or the CMP programs.  Overall,this 03A3 remains in excellent condition .  This example is mounted with a 1944 dated US sling.  A better than average example on the Canadian market.
