The bore rates as bright, very good to excellent with just the slightest hint of very light scattered corrosion related to the use of corrosive ammunition that was contemporary with the earlier carbines. This carbine shows 90% plus original blue and straw color on the trigger and uniform remnents on the small parts. Most blue loss is on the front frame strap. This piece shows its' original matching checkered grips and the correct unmarked wood bottom magazine. The wood shows light wear from handling and usage. The checkering on the grips, stock wrist and forend is all original, strong & well defined. The matching stock shows no breaks or cracks and the correct original buttplate. This piece is one of the perfected old model carbines from the serial range 21599 - 21992.See page 184 "The Luger Book" by John Walter. The general concensus is that there were only approximately 2500 of these 1902 Luger Carbines built. It should be further noted that the Luger 1902 Carbine in 30 Luger was loaded with a greater charge of powder than the standard 7.65 pistol round. This piece is in better than average condition and shows no indication of any repairs or modifications. An overall excellent example of a classic Luger. Restricted.
