  SN 292 is an original parker hale Whitworth rifle. .451 cal with a bright excellent bore. The bore is Hexagon Whitworth rifling. The barrel is 36" and fitted with the original steel globe with bead post front sight and 1000 yard elevator rear sight. All markings are crisp and original, the barrel bears the PH markings. The blue remains at 98%. The wood shows the quality of the Parker Hale firm and the excellent English checkering on the wrist and forearm. overall this piece is best described as excellent plus with only some minor tarnish on the base of the nipple and minor usage marks on the wood. The Whitworth was an expensive rifle to build and was not sold in the numbers of the other Parker Hale products. This firm ceased operations in 2000. This is a low serial Whitworth. A piece for the serious black powder shooter, or the collector of fine condition pieces. Bullets and molds are available. In addition the Lyman 451 slug can be used in this rifle.
