Pair of flint pocket pistols built by Richards(John I) circa 1777 based on the hallmark. Matching pair 2 1/2" barrels and 6" overall. This pair show silver grotesque masks on the butts with hallmarks. The grips shows original silver wire work. This pair shows five layers of laquer over wood to secure the silver wire inlays. Both pieces are sound with the less common cannon barrels. One pistol shows a #1 on the bottom of the barrel adjoining the top proof. Both pieces show evidence of use and carry, but both appear to show all original parts and no repairs.
