This paper cartridge is part of a small lot of paper military cartridges. The base of the cartridge, the outer paper wrapping joins the lead bullet and powder charge. The paper casing shows a beewax sealant. Overall length 3". There is no caliber markings on the container but it appears these rounds were built for the Enfield rifles. Not a common piece for the military or ammo collector. These cartridges are relatively rare-some of which were used in US during the Civil War.
