This East Indian Kater (push dagger) is all original and probably dates to late 18th century. This example shows a 10 1/2" double blade with a very pronounced 3 1/2" swelled point allowing the blade to pierce chain mail. The blade shows grooving and decoration at the base. The piece shows the typical grasping bars. The overall length of this Eastern weapon is 20 1/2". An original Katar, not a tourist trade item.
