This antique percussion piece shows the retailer Stairs and Sons, Halifax NS which operated as a family business from 1810 to 1972. They imported many of their goods from England and this would have been one circa 1830. The piece shows a 42" octagonal to round 16 gauge barrel, with percussion lock with light engraving matched by the lock plate. This piece shows a re-stocked wood with original butt plate, trigger guard etc. A very nice example of a Nova Scotia retailed gun.
