  • Description:

SN 6810 is an antique N.W.M.P. MKIII revolver in caliber 450. This one of the 326 revolvers that were received by the force. Reference: see markings and information on page 10 of "Arms and Accoutrements of the Mounted Police" by Don Klancher.  This exmple is included in the list of Adams MKIII revolvers on page 182 of aforesaid.  SN 6810 was noted being in Battleford in 1883.  This example shows clear markings with SN 6810, Adam's patent, trade mark and CMP mark in circle( Canada Mounted Police) on the right side of frame.  The left side shows the original British WD broad arrow MKIII markings.  Below the hammer is the British surplus broad arrow and the March 1874 date.  These revolvers were shipped to the troops in 1875.  This example shows a bright excellent 450 caliber bore.  This rare revolver does show some added or improved finish.  The action functions, but has a very hard trigger pull due to a replace main spring.  The grips remain in above average condition with sound original checkering.  A scarce and hard to locate N.W.M.P. revolver for the Canadian or Mounted Police collector.  Antique - not subject to current regulations.
