This is a new built cannon built by a talented machinist. The tube was turned on a lathe. The piece is 27 1/2" in overall length, 4" across the muzzle, 5" at the base. The bore is 1 5/8 and bored to a depth of 23 1/4" . The trunions are 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" in width. The center of the trunions is 1/2" steel, the balance is turned alumininum. The carriage is mounted on 4 wheels ,1" X 4" front and 1 X 3 1/2" rear all mounted on steel shafts. The weight of this cannon is 48.2 lbs. We don't know who built this item. The builder was obviously a capable lathe operator. There is no drilled touch hole. We are selling this item as a display piece only. The sale price in no way reflects on the uncountable hours that went into the building of this cannon. An attractive and unique display item that is a non gun.
