  • Description:

SN5023 B is a 660 code K98K built by Steyr-Daimler-Puch early in 1940.  The top of the receiver shows the 660 code over the 1940 date.  The bore rates at bright, good plus. Overall light pitting and sound shootable rifling.  All of the small parts are miss matched.  This rifle is a Russian capture that was reworked in a Soviet arsenal and surplus sold in the 1980-90's. The metal shows the typical Soviet blueing.  The stock is correct showing a Eagle Waffen mark.  Despite it's condition this remains a collectible Mauser with only 130,500 built in early 1940 with a relatively low survival rate.  This rifle is mounted with a correct original sling.
