• Description:

  SN 3793F is a WW2 German Model K98K rifle buit 1943, code BYF.  This example was rebuilt post WW2 but shows all of the original WW2 markings and proofs.  The bolt shows electro pencil matching numbers from the period of rebuilding.  The bore rates as bright excellent, no pitting and sharp rifling.  The markings on the receiver and barrel are all correct for the the BYF 43 production.  The four digit SN would indicate an early production 1943 rifle.  The stock is an original laminated type showing trace of the original markings on the right side of the butt.  Ref: Richard D. Law, " The German K98K Rifle :revised edition, page 208.  This example was probably a Serbian/Yugo post war rebuild that retained to original markings.
