  SN 370192 is a 1893 carbine, 20" barrel, marked special smokeless steel.  This example is one of 4.086 Model 1893 carbines built.  See page 203 of "Marlin Firearms" by Brophy.  This carbine shows all original parts and a well used appearance . The production period was 1893-1906.  The bore shows overall corrosion with visable rifling, clear barrel markings and added finish on the barrel and tube.  The wood is original showing usage marks and 9 knotches on the butt.  Sound action.  A scarce example for the Marlin or lever action collections.
