  SN 2988371 is a WWII M1 Garand built in June of 1944. This 30-06 cal rifle shows a bright very good to excellent bore, springfield barrel dated May of 1950. The rifle would have been overhauled at Springfield in 1950. The metal rates overall as excellent, original parkerized finish with clear stampings. The wood is original but shows sanding on the rear handguard and the stock. The circle P proof is faint but visible on the pistol grip. This piece is mounted with an original US sling dated 1944. A WWII rifle that also may have seen Korean service. A sound example for the US or military rifle collector.
