- Description:
London built fowling piece by Bartholomew Redfern. This flint fowler was built in the 1790-1836 time frame. Redfern was a Birmingham maker but the piece shows London on the barrel. Not uncommon for the era of this item. This antique shows a reconversion to flint. The barrel is 40" showing light pitting. Most of the pitting is at the back of the barrel, trigger guard and butt plate. The piece shows silver birds on the butt, wrist and escution. The bore shows obvious corrosion. The wood is basically sound but was sanded at some point. A non firearm that still shows a nice appearance.
