Ketland & Co Circa 1800 Flint Pistol Irish Marked

    A British Light Dragoon flint pistol 75 caliber with lock marked Ketland and Co.  This flint pistol shows an original lock with a replaced but correct style of cock.  The barrel is 9" and marked on the top MF 4423.The F is actully an E missing the bottom font. This marking is the Irish serial number ME4423. This serial number is placed on the barrel as per the Irsh Arms Act 1843. The ME stands for Meath county.   The wood is sound with all brass fittings.  The front furrel and the sideplate appear to be replacements as is the rod.  Sound lock which functions and holds.  This East India Company style of pistol has had work but is an original Ketland circa 1800 that makes a good representative example of an English pistol of the era.
