• Description:

  Antique Irish flint pistol.  This piece is marked Downe (makers name) on the lockplate.  The barrel is marked Cavan.  The piece shows no Irish registration markings.  The C-N was for the Cavan location.  This piece was built long before the Irish Registration Law of 1843.  The piece shows a 5" barrel and a massive 74 caliber bore.  The flint pistol was obviously buiilt as a defensive piece for the owner.  A scarce flint variation in overall excellent condition.  Antique, no permit required to purchase.
