  • Description:

SN 572 is a first year production Canadian Centennial Carbine 1867-1967.  This excellent plus example remains in excellent plus to new condition.  This carbine shows all of its original blue and stock finish.  The item appears to have been test fired by Winchester.  The right side of the butt stock shows a brass plate Winchester-Canada presented to Orville Pulsifer 1967 Centennial seminar.  This example is rather scarce compared to most commemorative Winchesters.  1.  The three digit serial number from the start of production.2 The fact that this carbine was presented to a guest at the then Winchester plant in Canada.  We have no way of confiriming the number of these carbines that were presented but we assume there were very few.Orville Pulsifer was the narrator of a Saturdayt CBC TV program called the Sportsmen's almanac on hunting, fishing and the out doors for three years. He and a few others individuals were invited to attend a Winchester sponsored conference at their then plant in Ontario.  At the closing night of the conference the participants were presented with a Winchester with the named plaque. Orivlle's father was a WW2 fighter pilot and a Truro businessman.  There is a room at Stanfield Airpot named in honer of him.  It is ironic that the only other presentation Winchester Centennial is a rifle in our inventroy.  That rifle was presented to Robert Stanfield, Premier of Nova Scotia on the occasion of Canada's Centennial. This carbine would make a unique additoin to any Canadian or Winchester collection.
