  • Description:

Serial # 2641 is a hammerless .22 single shot 'free-pistol'. 10.75" long barrel tips up for loading operated by the trigger hard, with single set trigger and rear sight screw adjustable for elevation.  No maker or retailer's name but certainly a Langenhan type 1893 pistol, made in Thuringen Germany by the firm Langenhan.  The serial number is 2641 and the pistol was first made in the 1890's. This pistol remains in sound mechanical condition.  The 22 caliber bore remains in bright ,excellent condition. The frame and trigger mechanism shows mottled grey remnants of case color with light factory engraving.  Both the front and rear sights are original to the piece. The calibre is 0.22 and the pistol is inscribed "5.6mm LFB #527 'LtB' stands for 'Lang fur Buechsen'.  In U.S. terms a .22 long with 29 grain bullet but very low powered. In addition, the German standard at that time was tighter in bore and chamber than U.S. standards.  The barrel itself and the lock-up are strong, but part of the chamber is unsupported and the pistol maybe unsafe with modern .22" shorts and .22" LR.
