German K98 Mauser 8MM Rifle

• Description:

  SN 5272 is a 1940 production Mauser built by Mauser.  This example shows all the K98K features but was rebuilt post WW2.  The metal show clear sharp markings on the barrel and receiver.  The wood is the correct laminated type showing a heavy coat of post war varnish.  The bolt shows electro pencil matching numbers from the time of the rebuilt post war.  The 8MM bore shows obvious corrosion but what appears to be sound rifling.  A typical East European post war rebuilt captured Mauser with better than average markings.  A good example for the collection.  This item could be improved with a little hand work.
