- Description:
Sn 9393i is a 1944 dated K 43 rifle. This rifle was built by Berlinor Lubecker Maschinen Fabrik coded duv as marked on the left side of the receiver. This example shows a bright excellent 7.92 x 57 (8mm) bore. This piece shows the correct 274 Waffen mark with Waffen marks on the magazine and on the various small parts. The cover, magazine and trigger guard show electropencil matching numbers. It is my opinion that following WW11 this rifle was reissued to the Czech military. The stock was cleaned & modified by a former owner who installed a rubber pad. In addition, the front sight hood was removed and a bead of weld was attached to the sight blade. I understand that the former owner used the rifle as a hunting rifle. These rifles were originally designed by the Germans to be sharpshooting rifles. It is apparently a very good shooter. This piece could be restored if it was remounted with a correct piece of K43 wood and a sight hood. This piece shows a correctly modified magazine pinned to 5 rounds. This rifle is mechanically sound and all original except for the above noted modifications. A scarce rifle in Canada.
