- Description:
19th or early 20th century German huntsman sword. This example shows a 20 1/2" double edge blade. Half the blade is engraved with a forest scene with a stand of arms. The reverse side has an inscription in German - basically translated " a hunter is correct as long as he hunts with great effort or enthusiasm" The reverse side shows a scallop guard, the makers name with a wood scone and a running stag. The tip of the blade shows corrossion marks related to long time poor storage. A very nice example of a traditional German hunting sword.
