  • Description:

General Officer and Staff Officer pattern 1822 sword.  This piece shows the crossed sword and baton which replaced the Royal cypher in the guard. Correct 34" pipe backed blade.  This pattern remained until 1845 for Staff Officers and 1831 for Generals.  This sword rides in a full dress scabbard, black leather and gilded brass.  This piece shows a Victoria cypher on the blade.  The blade shows some pitting in the front 6" and slight spotted areas.  The hilt is gilded and remains in excellent condition with the folding guard.  The fish skin grips and wire are excellent.  A very good example of General or Staff Officer's sword built prior to 1845.
