Sword built or retailed by Paul Stopin(1818-1878) purveyor of medals,clothing at Palais Royal in Paris up to 1878. He was known as a maker & retailer of medals and related materials including swords. This dress sword shows a 30" blade and silver guard. The guard shows a crow over 5 fleur de lis over a sailing ship. The banner is marked to be F Luctvat Nec Mercttur. The left corner of the banner shows a minor old world repair. The grip appears to be ebony with a silver & brass guard. This piece comes with it's original leather & silver scabbard.
